about

Recently asked, "What body of work best defines you? Your magnum opus?" Turns out, Billy Drease recorded such a "defining" album in 2004.

Performing then, under his birth name, Edreys, he began taking his recording and production into his own hands, with a DIY, work with what you have attitude, explaining the gritty, rough-edged sound of the final product. His writing was so personal and intimate that close associates convinced him that it may not be viable in the market. Ranging topics from the birth of a second child; the passing of his family's matriarch; the push and pull balance of being a father, husband and struggling artist woven over soulful and street grit beats, this project exuded the essence of hip hop.

10 years later, as a gift for himself on his birthday, 4/30, he is sharing this magnificent artistic offering with the public, of what he feels may be his most authentic work to date.
