about

After the release of his experimental and refreshing album Good Morning Amy in 2010, Billy Drease Williams walked away from his bubbling, on-the-verge-of-success, music career to take care of his family; taking on another career as a high school visual arts teacher.

From May 19 to August 1, 2013, Billy Drease found himself without the comfort and care of his wife, as her pursuit of passion for food and cooking lead her to the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Spending nearly an entire summer as a temporarily single (married); soccer kid-chauffeuring; meal-cooking; laundry-cleaning; dishwashing; grocery-shopping dad, Billy made the best of the seldom moments of spare time afforded to him. With a cold bedside each evening, for two and a half months, music took on the role of mistress... and The Porn Collexxxion was conceived. With a stream of consciousness approach, Billy's goal with this project is to convey emotion and character with the use of sound and rhythm in this collection of instrumentals. The idle mind becomes a creative warehouse instead of the devil's playground.

Why The Porn Collexxxion?
"This body of work was inspired by old stereotypical stories from grandparents, uncles, father/father-figures or even portrayals in movies and such, that once a man was married, with a family and settled in his role as a "man" he was entitled to a man-cave/den, quiet time of his own and a secret collection of adult magazines and/or VHS tapes of porn to retreat to. Porn in this case is my music." - BDW

The Porn Collexxxion is his first body of work after a 4 year hiatus, aimed at challenging listeners' norms, superficiality and comprehension of music as art.
